A three volume set, that is heavy in every sense of the word. Don't expect to find descriptions of buildings here; it really does focus on the history. Volumes 1 and 2 deal with the colleges, while volume 3 covers some non-collegiate University buildings, and also has essays on the component parts of a college.

Annoyingly, it does not have a contents list that goes over all volumes, which makes it tedious to use for quick reference. For the benefit of mankind (me at least), here is that contents list:
